Meals on Wheels People wins 2013 Grady Britton Grant
We are thrilled to announce that Meals on Wheels People has won the 2013 Grady Britton Grant!
This wasn’t an easy decision to make. This year we not only asked organizations to explain their communication strategy and how they would match our $25,000 in-kind marketing services, we also encouraged them to share photos through Instagram with hashtags #GBG13whoweare #GBG13whowehelp and #GBG13ourstyle to showcase the incredible work they are doing in our fine city. After weeks of reviewing applications and photos, followed up with a few phone calls, we selected Meals on Wheels People because their mission and fall campaign was the best fit for this year’s grant.
Meals on Wheels People is an organization that enriches the lives of seniors and assists them in maintaining independence by making nutritious food, social contracts and other resources accessible.
We’ll help Meals on Wheels People activate their new name and identity on a larger citywide scale (they were formally known as Loaves & Fishes Centers), and create a campaign for generating involvement in their winter giving program; one of the most important seasons for this group. Our goal is to help them reach their fundraising goals, and we plan to create materials that can be used for years to come.
Meals on Wheels People Director of Marketing and Communications, Julie Piper Finley, was elated when we shared the news, “I am a department of one and my background is as a writer – not a designer. I’m excited to work with professional graphics and ad people to help shape our message and promote our brand on a broader scale that would not be possible on my own.” We’re excited to work with you too!
Thank you to all the organizations that applied for the 2013 Grady Britton Grant. We at Grady Britton feel lucky to be surrounded and supported by non-profits that are doing amazing work in our community. We will continue to do this grant each year, and hope you will take part and spread the word for the next one.
